Teen Health

Teens today face a lot of issues from health, emotion, stress, peer pressure, risk factors such as being a new driver and temptations the world offers such as under age drinking, drugs and sexual issues. Below are multiple resources to help both teens and parents overcome and cope with issues, instead of ignoring them or hoping that they don’t exist.
It’s very important for teens and parents to "keep the lines of communication OPEN".

Life as a teenager can be tough.  Teens face many complex personal and social issues, such as succeeding in school, planning for the future, dating, driving, and becoming an adult.  In addition, teen victimization has reached an alarming rate, and they are twice as likely as adults to become victims of violent crimes (Bureau of Justice Statistics).
In order to protect themselves from becoming a victim of any kind, teens need resources to help them respond to threats to their safety such as dating violence, bullying, hate crimes, sexual harassment, and assault.  The more teens know about these issues, the easier it becomes for them to protect themselves.
